Death is the common enemy of all mankind. Man was created from the dust and can only anticipate death and a return to the dust apart from divine intervention. The resurrection of Jesus offers believers a new hope. Rather than being created from the dust and returning to the dust, Christians can joyfully look forward to conquering the grave and rising to glory. Only those who participate in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ can look forward to an eternal citizenship in the glorious New Jerusalem.
