Living as Christ in the Flesh

Jesus suffered in the flesh at the hands of wicked men. But he also suffered through self-control and self-denial. His temptations were real, and subduing the desires of his flesh which ran contrary to the perfect will of his Father was a true battle. Peter continues encouraging Christians to endure suffering - this time not from without, but from within. Adopting the same attitude towards sin our Lord had, and resisting temptation with the same tenacity.
